Saving Bluetooth Data - JSW - 10-08-2020 As a relative newcomer to Phyphox (which is a really great app) I am not sure if I am posting on the correct forum - that is to say whether this is a bug, or simply something I do not understand. However, my question is as follows. If I make my own non-bluetooth experiment on the iPhone (easy to do - thanks Phyphox!) - e.g. recording from a barometer, then I can export the data to look at later. However, if I make a bluetooth app (I bought an ESP module, and have installed the example of plotting random numbers), then again the iPhone app works fine, and I can plot the random numbers. However, if I try to export the data, it says that feature is not available. All the data has clearly been 'sent' to the iPhone, and is still somewhere as a file (because if I enable remote access and look at the plots on my computer then I can hover over the data and read off the coordinates of every data point). So - my naive beginner's question is how do I save data on my phone (eg sending via email) that has been plotted on it having been sent by a bluetooth device? RE: Saving Bluetooth Data - JSW - 10-09-2020 ...Interestingly I *have* found a work around for this. If one, instead of trying to 'Export Data", clicks on "Save experiment state", then you can email the "state file", which contains the experimental data in a bit of an inconvenient format, but one that can easily be converted. However, this does make me conclude that I *should* therefore just be able to "export data" from the bluetooth application, and the fact that this feature is not enabled is either an oversight or bug. I would appreciate comments... RE: Saving Bluetooth Data - Dominik Dorsel - 10-09-2020 Hey, thanks for reporting this issue. This is a bug in our phyphox library and will be fixed next week. To be more detailed on the issue: In a phyphox experiment one can define which data can be exported (beside the rawdata also further processed data can be exported). Currently our library does not add any data buffer to the export list so phyphox is not able to export your measurement. I hope you enjoy the library! I had thought I could write a python script to extract the data from the saved state file, but having the normal export options will be much more convenient. RE: Saving Bluetooth Data - solid - 10-11-2020 Hello Have you ever tried to save the data directly from the graph? It works normally even when phyphox data export is not programmed... |
