RPM-Meter counter per magnetic pulses over time - bhoney - 12-19-2023

Hello,

I have a question:

Is it possible to make a function that the RPM shows?

Longer time ago I have (let) build a running small Stirling Motor and try to make a measurement of power (I know it is less) and speed.

I can place one or more small neodym magnets and see pulses in Phyphox, but it is not comfortable. I have to count manual and calculate for myself.

The result should be a shown number of RPM and, if it is not to much, an instrument like in a car. Maybe the range should be adjustable till 3000 RPM. This I think would be enough for me. Another user can need a higher speed. Measure time should be from 0 seconds to endless (max. 30 minutes?).

It would be great if I get an answer and this function.

Sorry for my English, I`m a German. And I don`t understand all rules in the forum.

Have a good day

Bhoney

Have you tried the magnetic spectrum experiment (“Magnetfeld-Spektrum”). We apply it in order to count revolutions per time of a fidget spinner, for instance. See also our mini series on spectra (German version).

Thanks
