Help: elevator experiment - ericschumacher - 08-04-2022 Good morning I would like to change the elevator experiment a bit: The acceleration should not be determined via the acceleration sensor, but as a differential calculation of the speed. The speed was determined as a differential calculation from the height, it should stay that way. Would it be possible if someone could adapt this experiment to do so? Unfortunately I couldn't do it with the editor. Thank you very much and have a nice day. Best wishes, Eric RE: Help: elevator experiment - Jens Noriʇzsɔɥ - 08-11-2022 Technically, it is rather straightforward and, in such cases, it is typically easier to resort to a simple text editor, cut-and-paste a bit. Practically, the results would be quite likely … unpleasant. We have done that on some other occasions and with raw data the double numerical derivation leads to an (almost) meaningless acceleration graph. We solved it with a locally weighted scatterplot smoothing, see https://phyphox.org/lidar/, for instance, however, the rate of the barometer might by too low… Where would you like to utilise the adapted experiment? I am currently writing my master's thesis on the possible applications of Phyphox in mathematics lessons, at extracurricular learning lecations. Therefor, it would not be a problem for the master's thesis if the double numerical differentation values are not perfect. I an also say that in the thesis ich would like to use the experiement during a 20 meter free fall, similar to bungee jump. LG Eric edit: unfortunately I can't get the experiement programmed or changed by coping & pasting RE: Help: elevator experiment - Jens Noriʇzsɔɥ - 08-12-2022 Best drop me an e-mail: you can (also) reach me by the address given on the phyphox homepage… RE: Help: elevator experiment - ericschumacher - 08-12-2022 (08-12-2022, 01:42 PM)Jens Noritzsch Wrote: Best drop me an e-mail: you can (also) reach me by the address given on the phyphox homepage…I sent you an Mail, Thanks! |
