I have to race leaks sometimes, and sometimes I can see it leaking through the ceiling from the floor above, but in a large building and different floor plan, that can be difficult, it would be nice to use phone to plot a starting point (where the ceiling is leaking), and use the sensors (I assume gps?) to track movement away and back to that starting point on the x and y axis, so I can go to the floor above and navigate back to that same spot, monitoring the z axis would be a plus.

GPS does not really work well indoors, however, the IMU, i.e. accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, and barometer, found their way into smartphones because of indoor navigation.
There should be already an app for that. For a proof of concept, you could record your track in the GPS experiment, which falls back to other available location information, and verify if the graphs sort of go backwards when you navigate back… I am not so sure, though, if we could meaningfully display 3D location data in phyphox to guide you…
