Editor does not load my experiment correctly
#1
Hi,

I was working with the new Phyphox Editor before the release of the 1.2.0 version of Phyphox (late June), but the saved experiment now only partially loads (Main tab) while the other tabs appear empty.

I am working from a laptop using Edge as the browser.

The only difference I see in the Editor when it was working for me is that it did not have the option to upload icons or links, whereas the current version that does not work for me does.

I hope this report helps improve this excellent program (I am attaching my Phyphox Experimente).

Best regards.

Alberto

Thanks for reporting. We are aware that loading experiments stops at “bluetooth” and “noise” blocks, so they end up incomplete in the editor. Fixes are being prepared…

I will post here when they are released.

There is a new release, however, the import of “bluetooth” blocks is still incomplete – even if it looks ok on first sight. We are getting there…

The just released new version of the editor is largely improved on the “bluetooth” part. Unfortunately, there is one missing bit for your example: you need to manually set a checkmark at “time” (leading to the extra="time" attribute) as it is not yet imported.

I hope that it is not to annoying for the moment as we have entered the summer break at the university so we cannot tell when we could get the next update out.…

Hello, thank you very much for the time dedicated to my inquiry.

I made the change you indicated to check the time box (in the Input tab) which caused the extra attribute='time' to be generated as you had anticipated, however, when trying to load the Experiment to my phone it gives me Line 33: Tag needs a char attribute.

Well, I'm sure they will resolve it later, for now I hope you enjoy your summer break Cool

Greetings from Costa Rica.

Dammit… the output elements look overall weird and different to my tests: there are no characteristics, for instance. Have you loaded the file into a “fresh” editor or over a previous experiment?

I was working on a previous experiment.

I reset the editor and reloaded the fresh Experiment and now I was able to load it on my phone.

Now the experiment is working as it should  Smile

Thank you very much,

now with the new editor I was able to include an icon and reference links on the web

(These are the four Phyphox Experiments I have done so far with Phyphox)  Cool

Very good! Smile

The editor does not live update itself once it is loaded into the browser. Possibly, there was the previous version still in the browser that did not import the bluetooth attributes leading to the error message in phyphox…

Thanks again for reporting.

Hello Jens,

I am working on a simple experiment that consists of reading the output of a photocell from an Arduino MKR 1010 and it was working well.

I tested downloading the experiment from my phone, reviewing it with the Editor, and re-uploading it to the phone using the QR code and the result was different, it no longer worked for me.

I have been trying to understand what happened but I cannot fix it, it seems like some kind of instability in the Editor because I did the original experiment with the current Editor.

I am attaching an image of the correct result of the photocell reading and then the incorrect result.

Regards

Alberto

Do you still have the experiment sources (it’s likely easier for me to read from these what’s going on)? Alternatively, you could save the so-called experiment states from the three dots menu (right to the bin) and export these files from the main menu: that way, we would also receive the data.
