signed angular velocity
#1
Hi there,
I would like to get not only positive angular velocity readings but also negative angular velocity values, according to the sense of rotation. The reason behind this feature request is a much more didactically valuable plot, where kids see a full parabola curve instead of just a halve curve, when plotting acceleration versus angular velocity...
Thanks for this great app!
Regards
Luke

Hi Luke,

are you referring to the centripetal acceleration experiment? At the moment, it is plotting the absolute value because we do not know the rotation axis. For example on a record player, the phone rotates about z and in a salad spinner it rotates about x (or often about some oblique axis). However, if you are using one specific setup, you can create a version that does not plot the absolute, but x, y or z. Just load the existing experiment in our editor http://phyphox.org/editor and rewire accordingly.

At the moment, you need to transfer a phyphox-file to the target devices, but "soon" you will be able to just give them a QR code with the new configuration.

Let me know if you need any help with the editor.

Dear Sebastian,

thanks for the fast reply - and my lazy reaction ;-)
I'just the kind of guy with blocky programming experience, so your suggested editor is a bit frightening at first glance. I did not succeed in inverting the sign...Sorry to bother you for an additional hint.

No problem, I can just create it for you. About which axis do rotate the phone?
