Good morning.

I'm using Phyphox version 1.2.0-beta 4, and when I try to download or share data in Excel format, the created file won't open, indicating that the format or extension is invalid.

I've attached the downloaded Excel file that failed to open and the Python file I'm working on.

The beta phase of Version 1.1.11 has already started in July. Yesterday‘s update adds a huge step for the Depth Sensor support. A full list of new features and fixes is found at https://phyphox.org/wiki/index.php/Versi...ory#1.1.11
Intrepid explorers please head to https://phyphox.org/download/ and push the beta to its limits.

Notable News:

a depth (LiDAR/ToF) sensor experiment is promoted to the default tools rather than being a hidden feature. Supports any Face-ID iPhone now. Please report back on Android devices that work,

option in (also new) settings to turn off the screen (should also limit touch events) if the proximity sensor is triggered (hopefully saving battery in long experiment runs),

option to override language settings on all platforms,

option to change the remote access port.

Beta test of absolute time axis ("system time")

I have just submitted a new beta version 1.1.8-beta1 which should hit Google Play and Apple's Testflight shortly (I hope that Apple's review process approves before their Christmas break). Please discuss your thoughts and bug reports for this version in this thread, to avoid duplicate reports and to allow for a focussed discussion.

This Test Version introduces an absolute time axis (system time), which you can find by tapping on the graph and using "More tools" in the bottom right corner. Be warned: This feature required code changes in many parts of phyphox, so you have to expect bugs and problems and should switch to the non-beta version if you require a reliable version.

Things to test specifically:
- Representation of pause and resume in the graphs
- Showing time as system time
- Data export with metadata and reference times
- Access to metadata and reference times via REST API (see https://phyphox.org/wiki/index.php/Remot...munication)
- Submitting time reference data via the network connection interface (see https://phyphox.org/wiki/index.php/Network_Connections)
- Compatibility with any of your existing experiments. First of all, that nothing breaks, but also if the feature works with your experiment. However, the latter requires tagging graph axes as time axes, which cannot be done with the editor at the moment. You will need to add the tag timeOnX="true" with an text editor to each graph that should show a time axis. (see https://phyphox.org/wiki/index.php/Phyph...ent:_graph)

If you have any experiments that use multiple data sources (sensors mixed with GPS or Bluetooth) you might also have an eye on the new synchronization of their timestamps as everything is now using the same reference point from the last measurement start.

Hello,

Testing the new beta version, with a new way to generate sound, on Android 8.1.0 (moto 5G), and reporting a small bug on the tone generator.

Using the new "tone generator" experiment, which now comes with the possibility of generating either one or two frequencies. The "multi" generator works fine (as expected), but the view with a single frequency does not allow you to change the frequency : when I do so, it reverts back to its previous frequency when I hit enter. If I want to generate a single frequency, I have to go to the "multi" view, and put the amplitude of the second one to zero.

If this is a feature, I would suggest to drop out the single frequency view...

Cheers,

Finally, the public beta is also available for iOS. It took us a bit longer to finish this version and in the meanwhile Apple has introduced public beta testing, so please help us to find all the little problems before we officially release this version in a few weeks.

On iOS, test versions are installed through an App from Apple, called “Testflight”. You can follow the link below to find instructions and links to install the app on your iPhone or iPad. Once you have installed Testflight on your Apple device, follow the link again and chose to open it in Testflight. Testflight will then install the test version of phyphox for your.
Also, please use this forum for feedback and let us know about any problem or bug you find in this version.

Open experiments from zip files or QR codes
