Drop the smartphone along an array of magnets and analyze the recorded magnetic field to extract the linear acceleration. (Note, that there is a simple an alternative version using acoustic detection.)

The smartphone is mounted on an air track and accelerated by a weight on a string. An array of magnets is used, so the linear acceleration can be explored by measuring the magnetic field.

Measure the frequency of a pendulum on a string. You can determine the gravity constant this way.
The smartphone is placed in a (tightly inflated) plastic bag. Through the pressure sensor, you can determine the changes in pressure when differen weights are placed on the bag.
This experiment was shown to us by Holger Jessen-Thiesen (Twitter), who also provided a worksheet, which is only available in German at the moment.
